Reviews of Broadway Shopping Centre

Tim says: This is really convenient to those in the inner west. Parking is easy given the location and there is a decent range of normal shops. They recently renovated the top level with more premium shopping which is good.

About Broadway Shopping Centre

About Broadway
Graceful Retail

In 1904, Grace Bros opened the four-storey flagship building, known as the Model Store, which is now part of the Broadway Shopping Centre. Grace Bros introduced new retail methods, an expanded product line and corporate structure based on American retail practice. The Model Store was the first to launch a 12-Day Sale and capitalise on major events, such as the US Fleet and Royal visits, with in-store promotions or sales. These methods proved to be popular with the staff and ensured loyal customers.

The success of Grace Bros continued into the 20th Century, as they anticipated shopping trends and opened suburban stores. Due to changing retail patterns in the city, Grace Bros vacated the Broadway store in 1992. The building was resurrected as a multi-million dollar retail and cinema complex in 1998. The new state of the art complex, sensitively restored in compliance within the Heritage Commission guidelines, sees the grand old Grace Bros building now serving 21st century shoppers. One of the best known, and loved, focal points of Sydney retailing has once again taken its rightful place in Sydney's retailing history.

In April 2007, Broadway Shopping Centre completed a major redevelopment and added another retail level. Level 3 showcases the latest in fashion, including Marcs, French Connection, Nine West, Mollini, Esprit, David Lawrence, Dotti and more. Level 3 also includes Target and Priceline. The Centre's development also included additional car parking, new lifts to all car park levels, new restrooms throughout the Centre, and a refurbishment of the Centres food court.
