Reviews of Elizabeth Laser & Cosmetic Medicine Centre

danitraj says: After researching laser hair removal over the internet for weeks, I found the Elizabeth Medical Centre in North Sydney. After a couple of emails, I decided to book a consultation.

The doctor who consulted me, Dr Sharron Philipson, was unprofessional, asking more questions about how I discovered the clinic rather than what I had came in for. After I told her I found a suggestion on the Vogue forum, she proceeded to search the forums for the laser hair removal thread.

Finally, as I tried to steer the conversation onto the actual laser hair removal, she told me that I was perfect for the treatment as I have fair skin and dark hair. When I asked of any side effects, she said they were minimal and would probably be just some redness which would go away within a couple of days.

So I was set, I made a booking for the next day, which she said would be a 20 minute session. She gave me some leaflets and I was on my way (those leaflets described the facilities of the Elizabeth Medical Centre, rather than the procedure I was going to go through unfortunately).

The next day I came in for my appointment. I sat in the waiting room for half an hour as she kept me waiting, reading plastic surgery magazines about butt-crack adjustments and what not. She finally called me in to her office, and asked me to sign a waiver. Five seconds prior to signing she told me of a few "extra side effects" that she "forgot to mention yesterday." These included burns and some scabbing. Nevertheless, I signed the waiver (silly me) and I was guided into the procedure room (a bed with a machine).

She handed me an ice pack to numb the area and a pair of goggles. After I asked for some numbing cream she said I wouldn't need any, that it would not hurt. Let me tell you, she was dead wrong.
She dry shaved the area (rather sloppily - I see parts that she has missed, now I'm wondering whether I should shave over it or leave it, as it is on my face), then proceeded with the lasering.

This thing hurt like hell, and the 'cooling tip' did nothing. It was like an ice cube with a needle, if that makes sense. I felt where she applied the laser, and it was not all over the specified area.
Furthermore, the procedure did not even last all of five minutes, let alone twenty. She told me it was over, told me to apply the ice pack and left the room.

Confused, I waiting ten minutes for her to return as she just left me there. I got fed up and decided to leave, peeking into her office on the way, and saw her with another client.

To say the least, I thought she was rude (she made comments about the hair throughout the procedure, something I'm extremely sensitive about) and careless. Very bad service. Very disappointed.

I would not suggest anyone to go to the Elizabeth Medical Centre for any procedure, and if you have any other questions feel free to let me know.
