NINETYGO and Covestro unveil the R-GO Coffee Journey Series, a breakthrough in sustainable travel engineering.

From Success to Revolution: The R-GO Evolution

Building on the global commercial success of NINETYGO’s first-generation coffee luggage—currently available across North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia—the new R-GO Coffee Journey Series introduces a radical upgrade in material science.

While the original series pioneered the use of recycled coffee grounds mixed with polycarbonate (PC), the R-GO prototype integrates Covestro’s premium post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials to reach a new frontier of environmental performance:

Carbon Footprint: Shells of a standard 20-inch carry-on  are engineered to produce just 1.19 lbs (0.54 kg) of carbon emissions—a 67% reduction from the 3.4 lbs (1.54 kg) generated by traditional models.

Technical Benchmark: According to Covestro’s technical data, this is achieved by utilizing Makrolon®PCR solution, which reduces carbon emissions from 3.4 kg to 1.1 kg per kilogram compared to the virgin Makrolon® material.

Plastic Efficiency: These shells cut virgin plastic usage by 33.3% per unit.

Certified Integrity: All PCR materials used are validated by UL ECV Environmental Claim Validation and the Global Recycled Standard (GRS), the industry’s most respected benchmarks for recycled content.

We adhere to long-termism, focusing on constant innovation that evolves with the traveler. Our collaboration with Covestro allows us to achieve a seamless balance between environmental stewardship and high-performance engineering. We believe true sustainability is only achieved when eco-friendly innovation meets uncompromising durability and functionality.”

Revolutionary War artifacts unearthed at site of infamous colonial American heist: ‘Very surprised’

0

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

In this year of America’s 250th anniversary, archaeologists and college students recently discovered artifacts dating back to the American Revolution — including one infamous 18th-century robbery.

The dig took place in Newtown, Pennsylvania, some 30 miles northeast of Philadelphia, as local outlet WFMZ reported. Students from Bucks County Community College worked alongside employees from the Mercer Museum during the excavation.

Though it seems an unassuming plot of land in suburban Pennsylvania, the site was once home to colonial-era town buildings, including the county prison and courthouse.

The excavation, which took place from March 23 to March 28, focused on the area where the treasury building once stood.

Images show archaeologists and volunteers working around the open excavation pit, as well as various small 18th-century artifacts that were uncovered, including coins.

Researchers say the site played a role in a 1781 robbery involving the Doan Gang, when thousands in colonial currency were stolen from the Bucks County treasury. A scene involving the Doan Gang is pictured right. (Mike Cipher, Bucks County Historical Society; Wikimedia Commons)

The dig took place on land steeped in Revolutionary War history, according to Clint Flack, an exhibit specialist at Bucks County Historical Society.

Flack, who was involved in the excavation, told Fox News Digital the most significant finds included three British gunflints from the Revolutionary War era, which were used to spark gunpowder in muskets.

The historian said they also found a small set of keys — either used for furniture or a padlock — as well as a Dutch copper coin called a duit and a New York penny from 1737.

Excavators also found a large amount of porcelain, pottery and glass that had been beneath the soil for over 200 years.

The team was “very surprised,” said Flack, to find the treasury’s foundation hidden just below the surface as well, which he described as being in good condition.

“The gang unlocked the door to the treasury, but had to break open a locked desk by prying the drawers open with knives.”

The foundation was a key find, as the building was the setting of an infamous robbery by the Doan Gang, a group of Quaker Loyalists who stole thousands in colonial currency in 1781.

The robbery happened just three days after the British surrendered at Yorktown, Flack related.

The gang, many of whom were part of the Doan family, robbed the Bucks County treasury of a large sum — 1,200 silver Spanish dollars and 400 silver French crowns, as well as other cash.

“The robbery began at the home of county treasurer, John Hart, where the gang seized a bundle of cash that had not yet been deposited in the treasury as well as the keys to the treasury,” Flack said.

“The gang unlocked the door to the treasury, but had to break open a locked desk by prying the drawers open with knives,” he added. The desk is currently on display at the Mercer Museum.

Though the Doan Gang robbery remains a notable chapter, Flack said it’s only one small part of the property’s “incredible” history.

Marcus Bontempelli ruled out as Sydney superstar Isaac Heeney ruled out of Bulldogs clash

0

Sydney superstar Isaac Heeney will miss the Swans’ clash with the injury-hit Western Bulldogs due to a calf injury.

Heeney did not make the trip to Melbourne ahead of Thursday night’s match at Marvel Stadium.

The Swans will play two debutants — Billy Cootee and Will Edwards — and have recalled veteran Dane Rampe following a rest.

Know the news with the 7NEWS app: Download today Arrow

The Bulldogs have named captain Marcus Bontempelli despite being bothered by knee soreness.

The 10-year anniversary of the Western Bulldogs’ drought-breaking 2016 flag is cause for reflection for a club that has endured plenty of dark times in between successes.

But coach Luke Beveridge sees no point comparing his current Bulldogs outfit to celebrated teams of the past, with the experienced coach dealing with more pressing matters amid an injury crisis that threatens to derail his side’s premiership bid.

“When you create a memory like that for your supporter base and for each other, you’ve got to celebrate it when the time comes,” Beveridge said this week.

“That’s the thing about the game; it’s togetherness and the relationships that underpin the best performances.

“That’s what happened during that period of time.”

The heroes of 2016 will come together for a premiership reunion when the Bulldogs host Sydney at Marvel Stadium on Thursday night.

Only two of those players remain active with the Dogs, with Tom Liberatore sidelined under concussion protocols.

Liberatore and Bontempelli were part of a team that famously rose from seventh and won four cut-throat finals — a feat not achieved before or since — to snare their club’s second AFL/VFL premiership.

“It was a special group, a special team, that played for each other and played on the edge — no quarter given,” Beveridge said.

“They inspired all of us and it’s just a great memory and it’s important for our people to celebrate that – definitely the players that played in it.

“And I imagine that as time goes on they’ll probably celebrate it a bit harder if they’re not playing.”

But that’s where Beveridge draws a line, with no tales of 2016 to be used as inspiration in his preparation for another battle with Sydney.

Liam Picken, Easton Wood, Shane Biggs and co can recount their stories in another forum.

“That was then, this is now. I don’t believe in trying to measure up to a team historically,” Beveridge said.

“I’ve never done it … it’s always looking internally and trying to authenticate what you’re doing together.”

Sydney (5-1) sit on top of the ladder, while the undermanned Bulldogs (4-2) are on a two-match losing skid and were “flattened” last week by the loss of Sam Darcy to a season-ending knee injury.

“We’ve had time, we’ve spun out of that, and by the time we get to the game we’ll be ready to play,” Beveridge said.

“Sydney have been impressive, so it’s going to be no less a task than what we’ve been facing.

“It won’t be any concerns around the valour that the players need to present to play against the Swans.”

Sino Jet Releases 2025 Carbon Emissions Report, Fully Achieving Carbon-Neutral Goals for Its Own Fleet and Ground Operations

0

HONG KONG, April 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — On April 22, 2026, the 57th World Earth Day, Sino Jet, a leading business aviation company in the Asia-Pacific region, officially released its 2025 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Report. Since China proposed its “dual carbon” goals, Sino Jet has published its annual carbon emissions report for the fifth consecutive year. Through consistent, transparent disclosures as a normal practice, Sino Jet demonstrates its firm commitment to and tangible results in the green and low-carbon transition.

The report shows that, amid steady growth in business scale, Sino Jet’s total carbon emissions in 2025 decreased by 6.96% year over year compared with 2024, and by 26.68% cumulatively compared with the baseline year 2021. After implementing technology-driven emission reductions and management optimization, the company offsets the remaining 996.085 tCO₂e through the purchase of carbon credits—including CCER offshore wind power, VCS landfill gas capture and power generation, and methane emission reductions from livestock and poultry farming under GS—thereby completing the cancellation process. The company has officially achieved its 2025 strategic goal of “carbon neutrality across the company’s own aircraft, ground support, and office operations.” This lays a solid foundation for achieving carbon neutrality across its overall business by 2035.

In 2025, Sino Jet’s total greenhouse gas emissions amounted to 23,176.943 tCO₂e. Scope 1 emissions (direct fuel combustion) accounted for 95.31% of the total, representing a 5.29% reduction compared with 2024, effectively controlling carbon emissions in core aviation operations. Scope 2 emissions (purchased electricity and heat) accounted for 1.72% of the total. Along with business expansion and improvements in service quality, Scope 2 increased by 20.78% compared with 2024—an expected rise under expanding operational scale. Scope 3 emissions (indirect emissions across the value chain) recorded a 45.20% decrease compared with 2024, setting a new industry benchmark for value-chain emissions reduction.

As the first business aviation company in China to announce a carbon-neutral pathway, Sino Jet has consistently made green aviation its core driving force. It has proactively established a “three-step progressive” decarbonization framework: in the short term, achieve carbon neutrality for its own fleet and ground operations in 2025 (successfully completed); in the mid term, plan through 2035 to promote carbon neutrality for the managed fleet in parallel, and reduce the company’s per-capita carbon emissions intensity by 20%; and in the long term, aim to reduce the company’s per-capita carbon emissions intensity by 40% versus the current level by 2050, continuing to lead the low-carbon transition in business aviation.

Digital Enablement: Building a Precise Carbon Management System

Sino Jet treats digital aviation as a core driver for building green aviation. By establishing efficient and precise management processes, the company not only upgrades its operating model, but also leverages a data-driven decision-making mechanism to improve both resource utilization efficiency and capabilities for controlling environmental impacts. Meanwhile, Sino Jet has built an enterprise carbon management system, which can integrate digital management modules across the full aircraft lifecycle—enabling precise control and intelligent analysis of data across all scenarios, including aircraft operations, energy procurement, and employee commuting.

The system can generate personalized emission-reduction plans. While reducing carbon emissions intensity, it also improves the customer flying experience and strengthens the long-term value preservation of aircraft assets.

Green Innovation: Driving Low-Carbon Transition from Multiple Dimensions

Given the industry characteristic that aviation fuel is a major source of emissions, Sino Jet implements refined energy management. To date, the company can provide SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) refueling services for customers at major hub airports, including Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Zhengzhou, and Ningbo.

In addition, by optimizing energy-use efficiency, prioritizing low-carbon suppliers, promoting energy-saving office practices and paperless operations, and implementing waste sorting and recycling measures, Sino Jet reduces carbon emissions across operational stages in a comprehensive manner. The company has also initiated an innovative high-altitude carbon-sink forest donation program, exploring a sustainable development closed loop of “emissions reduction in the air and carbon sequestration on the ground.”

In terms of building an ecosystem for green mobility, Sino Jet is actively developing a three-dimensional mobility solution of “business aviation + eVTOL.” At the 2025 Asian General Aviation Trade Show, Sino Jet formally signed a procurement order for 50 AE200 eVTOL aircraft with AEROFUGIA. This establishes a solid foundation for subsequent large-scale deliveries and commercial operations, offering customers a high-quality one-stop green mobility solution from origin to destination.

The successful achievement of Sino Jet’s 2025 carbon-neutral goal is an important milestone in the company’s implementation of the dual-carbon strategy and its fulfillment of social responsibility. Going forward, Sino Jet will continue to deepen its “Technology + Green” development strategy, further optimize its carbon emissions management and control system, improve digitalized green operational models, and gradually promote coordinated emissions reductions across the managed-fleet operations and the supply chain—contributing to the realization of China’s dual-carbon goals and the high-quality development of multi-dimensional transportation and mobility.

United Airlines slashes 2026 forecast as fuel costs surge

0

Al Drago | Getty Images

United Airlines slashed its 2026 earnings outlook Tuesday as it grapples with a surge in jet fuel prices due to the Iran war.

United said it could earn between $7 and $11 a share on an adjusted basis this year, down from its previous forecast of between $12 and $14 a share that it released in January, more than a month before the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran.

The carrier, like others, is trimming some of its planned flying this year to reduce costs. Wall Street had already been adjusting its expectations for the year as a result. Analysts polled by LSEG had forecast that United’s adjusted, full-year earnings would be $9.58 a share.

For the second quarter, United forecast adjusted earnings of between $1 and $2 a share. Analysts had expected $2.08 a share for the quarter. United estimated its fuel price would average $4.30 a gallon in the second quarter.

The carrier said it expects its revenue to cover between 40% to 50% of the fuel price increase in the second quarter, as much as 80% in the third and between 85% and 100% by the end of the year.

United reiterated that it is tweaking its schedules to adjust to higher fuel, with capacity in the second half of the year expected to be flat to up about 2% on the year. It grew 3.4% in the first quarter.

Here is what United Airlines reported for the quarter that ended March 31 compared with what Wall Street was expecting, based on estimates compiled by LSEG:

  • Earnings per share: $1.19 adjusted vs. $1.07 expected
  • Revenue: $14.61 billion vs. $14.37 billion expected

Revenue, profit climb

Revenue overall rose more than 10%, to $14.61 billion, up from the $13.21 billion from a year before.

For the first quarter, United’s net income rose 80% to $699 million, or $2.14 cents a share, compared with net income of $387 million, or $1.16 cents a share, a year earlier. Adjusted for one-time items, United posted earnings per share of $1.19 a share.

Unit revenue was up in every reported segment, including for domestic U.S. flights, where it rose 7.9% to $7.9 billion from a year earlier, signaling strong pricing power in the quarter.

“These are results our employees can be proud of, and they show the resilience of our long-term strategy, even in the face of escalating fuel expense,” CEO Scott Kirby said in an earnings release.

Jet fuel in the U.S. was going for $3.51 a gallon on Monday, down from the high on April 2 of $4.78, but far above the $2.39 on Feb. 27, the day before the first attacks on Iran, according to prices assessed by Platts.

Airline executives have said demand has remained robust even while they have increased fares and checked bag fees as they pass along higher fuel prices to customers. The industry has become more reliant on travelers who are willing to shell out more for flights and bigger seats, and who are less affected by price increases.

Alaska Airlines pulled its 2026 forecast on Monday because of higher fuel prices. It has raised fares about $25, CEO Ben Minicucci told analysts Tuesday.

Merger ambitions?

United CEO Scott Kirby is likely to face questions on the company’s 10:30 a.m. ET earnings call on Wednesday about his ambitions for a merger with another airline.

Kirby floated a potential merger with American Airlines to a Trump administration official earlier this year, according to a person familiar with the matter, but President Donald Trump said he was against the idea.

“I don’t like having them merge,” he told CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on Tuesday morning. He said he would like someone to buy struggling discount carrier Spirit but he also suggested that the federal government could “help that one out.”

American also rejected the idea of a merger with United last week.

HOIN Portable Thermal Printers Reach 370 Million Users After Ten Years of Proprietary Hardware Development

0

SHENZHEN, China, April 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — For enterprise of thermal printers manufacturers, users scale is the ultimate validator. Shenzhen Hoin Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. (HOIN) announced today that its specialized Portable Thermal Label Printer systems have successfully integrated into the infrastructure of a globally recognized telecom operator. The deployment now supports operations for a subscriber base exceeding 370 million users, marking a significant milestone as the company enters its 11th year of operation.

The breakthrough did not happen by accident. Unlike most Thermal Printer Suppliers that source standard motherboards and solutions externally, HOIN spent a decade building its hardware and firmware stack from the circuit level up.

The success centers on the HOP-HQ300, a high-performance 2-in-1 mobile Bluetooth label and receipt printer. The carrier’s service branches required a device capable of switching between receipt and label output seamlessly to handle hundreds of millions of service transactions.

The HOP-HQ300 was engineered to meet these specific demands, integrating directly into a massive mobile service network. By managing the hardware architecture internally, HOIN ensured the device could maintain stability during peak transaction periods across thousands of remote service points. This project demonstrates that the company can manage infrastructure-level deployments where equipment failure is not an option.

HOIN HOP-HQ300 2-in-1 Portable Thermal Label Printer
HOIN HOP-HQ300 2-in-1 Portable Thermal Label Printer

The 18-Year Technical Foundation
The company’s trajectory was set long before its official founding in 2015. HOIN’s three core founders began with a combined 18 years of R&D experience in thermal printing technology. That accumulated experience shaped one early decision that still defines the company: design the mold, printer head motherboards in-house, write the firmware internally, and never let a third-party component be the reason a customer has a problem.

“Reliability in a telecom environment depends on how the device handles thousands of high-frequency tasks in varied climates,” said Nina Xia, one of the founders. “Control over our own hardware design ensures our Thermal Barcode Label Printer units offer the seamless integration and uptime that national infrastructure requires.”

Inside HOIN’s 10,000Shenzhen Factory
To support global demand, HOIN operates a 10,000-square-meter production facility in Baoan, Shenzhen. The factory houses has its own structure and mold design workshops, firmware and software programming departments, SMT lines, production assembly lines, aging and testing lines, under one roof. For buyers evaluating Thermal Printer Suppliers, that level of vertical integration is not common at this price point.

Quality is managed through a strict Six-Step Protocol. Every Barcode Printer that leaves the assembly line must pass six distinct stages of testing, including a 100% aging test and a dedicated evaluation of thermal printhead durability before certifications such as CCC, ISO9001:2015, CE, FCC,CB, BIS, and RoHS were even pursued.

The HQ400: HOIN’s First Fully Proprietary Industrial Printer
That in-house capability recently produced its most significant output to date. HOIN has introduced the HQ400, the company’s first fully self-developed industrial-grade thermal printer, in which every core component, from the print mechanism to the main control board especially the printer head, was designed and engineered internally without reliance on third-party modules, The HQ400 marks a deliberate strategic shift: industrial-grade hardware, built entirely on proprietary architecture, is where HOIN is placing its next phase of development resources.

Evolution Across the Global Market
Since 2015, HOIN has transformed from a specialized Shenzhen workshop into a global brand serving over 50 countries. The company’s portfolio has expanded to meet the diverse needs of modern logistics and retail:

  • Thermal Label Printer line now covers high-speed e-commerce shipping operations across Southeast Asia.
  • Thermal Transfer Printer units have been specified for industrial environments where label durability under heat and chemical exposure is a procurement requirement.
  • Customized builds include a Thermal Receipt Printer variant for encrypted highway toll collection and a serial-port thermal printer configured for maritime log output on commercial vessels.

For the system integrators who have to make this hardware work, HOIN provides a full-stack SDK for Android, iOS, Windows, and Linux. This technical openness makes it easy for businesses to move away from expensive legacy brands and adopt HOIN’s more agile hardware.

2026 and Beyond
As HOIN celebrates its first decade, the company is expanding further into Africa, Latin America, and other emerging markets. With its combination of source-factory pricing and professional-grade engineering, HOIN is positioning its Thermal Barcode Label Printer solutions as a strong, reliable choice for businesses worldwide.

The distributor network now spans more than 50 countries, and the next phase of expansion is focused on Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America, where demand for reliable, cost-efficient Thermal Printer infrastructure is growing faster than the existing supply base can meet it. The engineering team’s next focus will be on the R&D, production, and promotion of industrial-grade thermal transfer label printers. Leveraging its proprietary core technologies, the company will introduce highly reliable product series designed to meet stringent industrial requirements for label durability, printing precision, and environmental adaptability. This initiative aims to further strengthen its solution capabilities in the specialized printing field, supporting the digital transformation of global logistics, manufacturing, and retail industries.

About HOIN

Rare Roman mosaic shows woman battling wild animals in the arena, researcher says

An ancient Roman mosaic shows a woman fighting a wild beast in the arena — a rare depiction of a female combatant and the first known visual representation of a woman battling animals, according to a researcher.

The mosaic, which dates to around 250 A.D., appears to show a woman confronting a leopard, with a photo of the damaged artwork showing her wielding a whip beside the animal.

Author Alfonso Manas, a researcher in Spain, argues that the mosaic is the first-known depiction of a woman fighting an animal in the Roman arena.

The discovery adds to “documented evidence of women performing as gladiators and beast-fighters,” Manas told Fox News Digital.

The most persuasive evidence that the figure is female is the fact that she was topless, Manas noted — which he described as “conclusive.”

“Showing her topless was actually the typical resource in Roman mosaics to show that a figure was a woman, something hard to determine in [the] context of men due to the lack of fine detail of mosaics,” the expert noted.

“And the strongest piece of evidence showing she is a beast-fighter is the leopard on her left, running away from her whip.”

Manas added, “Thus, she is a female beast-fighter, a venatrix — the first known depiction of one of those women.”

The researcher emphasized that beast-fighters and gladiators were not synonymous, however.

“To confuse them is as if we today confuse a boxer with a bullfighter — they are two completely different things,” he said.

“Their only feature in common in Rome was that they performed in the same building, the amphitheatre.”

Manas said male beast-fighters were far more common, with over 1,000 known visual depictions of men compared to just one of a woman.

The historian added that women often attended shows as spectators.

“The main difference between men and women in the arena was that men were performers, managers and spectators.”

Men exclusively handled organizing the games and officiating the fights — but beyond those roles, women participated in nearly every other aspect of the spectacles.

“The main difference between men and women in the arena was that men were performers, managers and spectators, whereas women were only performers and spectators,” Manas noted.

The discovery also proves that females performed topless, which was meant to intrigue men.

Doing so “would help those female performers to become more popular and, thus, earn more money in their careers,” said Manas.

The researcher also noted that women were banned from taking part in gladiatorial matches in 200 A.D., on the command of Emperor Septimius Severus.

It was unclear if female beast-fighters were also impacted by the ban, but Manas said his discovery suggests they were not, as the mosaic dates to roughly 250 A.D. or later.

“It adds 50 years or more, perhaps a whole century, to the history of women as performers in the arena,” he said.

“This is very important. … Spectators wanted to continue seeing [women] performing in the arena.”

“Diana was the goddess of hunting. She was a huntress, a venatrix, and thus it was seen as acceptable … that women performed as hunters in the arena.”

Manas added that the fact that “a rich man ordered one of those women to appear in the mosaic … shows the great admiration spectators felt toward those women, something similar to the admiration we feel today for female stars of sports, music [and] cinema.”

Unlike female gladiators, who faced criticism and eventual bans, beast-fighters appear to have held a different status in Roman spectacles, Manas said.

“Whereas it was shameful for a woman, and man, to perform as a gladiator, essentially because gladiators killed fellow humans, which was always seen as reproachful.”
