HOIN Portable Thermal Printers Reach 370 Million Users After Ten Years of Proprietary Hardware Development

0

SHENZHEN, China, April 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — For enterprise of thermal printers manufacturers, users scale is the ultimate validator. Shenzhen Hoin Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. (HOIN) announced today that its specialized Portable Thermal Label Printer systems have successfully integrated into the infrastructure of a globally recognized telecom operator. The deployment now supports operations for a subscriber base exceeding 370 million users, marking a significant milestone as the company enters its 11th year of operation.

The breakthrough did not happen by accident. Unlike most Thermal Printer Suppliers that source standard motherboards and solutions externally, HOIN spent a decade building its hardware and firmware stack from the circuit level up.

The success centers on the HOP-HQ300, a high-performance 2-in-1 mobile Bluetooth label and receipt printer. The carrier’s service branches required a device capable of switching between receipt and label output seamlessly to handle hundreds of millions of service transactions.

The HOP-HQ300 was engineered to meet these specific demands, integrating directly into a massive mobile service network. By managing the hardware architecture internally, HOIN ensured the device could maintain stability during peak transaction periods across thousands of remote service points. This project demonstrates that the company can manage infrastructure-level deployments where equipment failure is not an option.

The 18-Year Technical Foundation
The company’s trajectory was set long before its official founding in 2015. HOIN’s three core founders began with a combined 18 years of R&D experience in thermal printing technology. That accumulated experience shaped one early decision that still defines the company: design the mold, printer head motherboards in-house, write the firmware internally, and never let a third-party component be the reason a customer has a problem.

“Reliability in a telecom environment depends on how the device handles thousands of high-frequency tasks in varied climates,” said Nina Xia, one of the founders. “Control over our own hardware design ensures our Thermal Barcode Label Printer units offer the seamless integration and uptime that national infrastructure requires.”

Inside HOIN’s 10,000Shenzhen Factory
To support global demand, HOIN operates a 10,000-square-meter production facility in Baoan, Shenzhen. The factory houses has its own structure and mold design workshops, firmware and software programming departments, SMT lines, production assembly lines, aging and testing lines, under one roof. For buyers evaluating Thermal Printer Suppliers, that level of vertical integration is not common at this price point.

Quality is managed through a strict Six-Step Protocol. Every Barcode Printer that leaves the assembly line must pass six distinct stages of testing, including a 100% aging test and a dedicated evaluation of thermal printhead durability before certifications such as CCC, ISO9001:2015, CE, FCC,CB, BIS, and RoHS were even pursued.

The HQ400: HOIN’s First Fully Proprietary Industrial Printer
That in-house capability recently produced its most significant output to date. HOIN has introduced the HQ400, the company’s first fully self-developed industrial-grade thermal printer, in which every core component, from the print mechanism to the main control board especially the printer head, was designed and engineered internally without reliance on third-party modules, The HQ400 marks a deliberate strategic shift: industrial-grade hardware, built entirely on proprietary architecture, is where HOIN is placing its next phase of development resources.

Evolution Across the Global Market
Since 2015, HOIN has transformed from a specialized Shenzhen workshop into a global brand serving over 50 countries. The company’s portfolio has expanded to meet the diverse needs of modern logistics and retail:

  • Thermal Label Printer line now covers high-speed e-commerce shipping operations across Southeast Asia.
  • Thermal Transfer Printer units have been specified for industrial environments where label durability under heat and chemical exposure is a procurement requirement.
  • Customized builds include a Thermal Receipt Printer variant for encrypted highway toll collection and a serial-port thermal printer configured for maritime log output on commercial vessels.

For the system integrators who have to make this hardware work, HOIN provides a full-stack SDK for Android, iOS, Windows, and Linux. This technical openness makes it easy for businesses to move away from expensive legacy brands and adopt HOIN’s more agile hardware.

2026 and Beyond
As HOIN celebrates its first decade, the company is expanding further into Africa, Latin America, and other emerging markets. With its combination of source-factory pricing and professional-grade engineering, HOIN is positioning its Thermal Barcode Label Printer solutions as a strong, reliable choice for businesses worldwide.

The distributor network now spans more than 50 countries, and the next phase of expansion is focused on Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America, where demand for reliable, cost-efficient Thermal Printer infrastructure is growing faster than the existing supply base can meet it. The engineering team’s next focus will be on the R&D, production, and promotion of industrial-grade thermal transfer label printers. Leveraging its proprietary core technologies, the company will introduce highly reliable product series designed to meet stringent industrial requirements for label durability, printing precision, and environmental adaptability. This initiative aims to further strengthen its solution capabilities in the specialized printing field, supporting the digital transformation of global logistics, manufacturing, and retail industries.

Rare Roman mosaic shows woman battling wild animals in the arena, researcher says

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

An ancient Roman mosaic shows a woman fighting a wild beast in the arena — a rare depiction of a female combatant and the first known visual representation of a woman battling animals, according to a researcher.

The mosaic, which dates to around 250 A.D., appears to show a woman confronting a leopard, with a photo of the damaged artwork showing her wielding a whip beside the animal.

Author Alfonso Manas, a researcher in Spain, argues that the mosaic is the first-known depiction of a woman fighting an animal in the Roman arena.

‘HIGHLY UNUSUAL’ CANNONBALL CACHE FOUND AT CONSTRUCTION SITE IN COASTAL CITY MAY BE WORLD’S FIRST

The discovery adds to “documented evidence of women performing as gladiators and beast-fighters,” Manas told Fox News Digital.

The most persuasive evidence that the figure is female is the fact that she was topless, Manas noted — which he described as “conclusive.”

Split image of male, female beast fighters in Rome

A researcher says a Roman mosaic dating to around 250 A.D. may depict a female beast-fighter confronting a leopard in the arena, seen at right. (Alfonso Manas)

“Showing her topless was actually the typical resource in Roman mosaics to show that a figure was a woman, something hard to determine in [the] context of men due to the lack of fine detail of mosaics,” the expert noted.

“And the strongest piece of evidence showing she is a beast-fighter is the leopard on her left, running away from her whip.”

ARCHAEOLOGISTS UNCOVER MYSTERIOUS CHRISTIAN ARTIFACT NEAR WATERS TIED TO JESUS’ MINISTRY: ‘NO KNOWN PARALLEL’

Manas added, “Thus, she is a female beast-fighter, a venatrix — the first known depiction of one of those women.”

The researcher emphasized that beast-fighters and gladiators were not synonymous, however.

The ancient artwork is believed to show a woman wielding a whip against a leopard, offering rare insight into female performers in Roman spectacles. (Alfonso Manas)

“To confuse them is as if we today confuse a boxer with a bullfighter — they are two completely different things,” he said.

“Their only feature in common in Rome was that they performed in the same building, the amphitheatre.”

LEGENDARY CAPTAIN WHO INSPIRED ‘THE THREE MUSKETEERS’ MAY HAVE BEEN FOUND UNDER CHURCH ALTAR

Manas said male beast-fighters were far more common, with over 1,000 known visual depictions of men compared to just one of a woman.

The historian added that women often attended shows as spectators.

“The main difference between men and women in the arena was that men were performers, managers and spectators.”

Men exclusively handled organizing the games and officiating the fights — but beyond those roles, women participated in nearly every other aspect of the spectacles.

“The main difference between men and women in the arena was that men were performers, managers and spectators, whereas women were only performers and spectators,” Manas noted.

The discovery also proves that females performed topless, which was meant to intrigue men.

Doing so “would help those female performers to become more popular and, thus, earn more money in their careers,” said Manas.

The researcher also noted that women were banned from taking part in gladiatorial matches in 200 A.D., on the command of Emperor Septimius Severus.

It was unclear if female beast-fighters were also impacted by the ban, but Manas said his discovery suggests they were not, as the mosaic dates to roughly 250 A.D. or later.

“It adds 50 years or more, perhaps a whole century, to the history of women as performers in the arena,” he said.

“This is very important. … Spectators wanted to continue seeing [women] performing in the arena.”

“Diana was the goddess of hunting. She was a huntress, a venatrix, and thus it was seen as acceptable … that women performed as hunters in the arena.”

Manas added that the fact that “a rich man ordered one of those women to appear in the mosaic … shows the great admiration spectators felt toward those women, something similar to the admiration we feel today for female stars of sports, music [and] cinema.”

Unlike female gladiators, who faced criticism and eventual bans, beast-fighters appear to have held a different status in Roman spectacles, Manas said.

I wrote about being rejected from Meghan Markle’s Sydney retreat. The internet response was exactly what you’d expect

0

It’s been just over a week since I wrote about being removed from Her Best Life luxury women’s retreat featuring Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and the response has been, to put it mildly, unhinged.

Not from the organisers. Not from the retreat itself. From strangers on the internet.

WATCH THE VIDEO ABOVE: Harry and Meghan’s Australian tour boosts brand Sussex

Know the news with the 7NEWS app: Download today Arrow

My Instagram DMs filled up quickly, one woman (that I know of) made a TikTok ranting about me.

The tone ranged from defensive to accusatory to outright hostile, with a surprising number of people confidently informing me that I am, apparently, a Meghan hater, a bad person and, in some cases, something far worse.

Which is interesting, because none of that is true.

What seems to have short-circuited the discourse is a concept that is, in theory, quite simple: two things can exist at once.

I can admire Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, be genuinely interested in hearing her speak and still feel disappointed by how an event connected to her was handled.

I can be both supportive and critical. That’s not hypocrisy, it’s nuance.

But nuance does not perform particularly well online.

READ MORE: I paid $2699 for a weekend with Meghan Markle, then I got kicked out

Instead, what followed felt like a smaller, more personal version of the exact dynamic Meghan herself has spoken about for years.

The pile-on. The assumptions. The speed at which a stranger becomes a target simply for saying something that doesn’t align with a preferred narrative.

And that’s where the irony becomes difficult to ignore.

Many of the messages I received were framed as defence. Defence of Meghan. Defence of women. Defence of the event.

And yet the tone, the aggression, the willingness to jump to personal attacks all echoed the very culture of online harassment that Meghan has publicly pushed back against.

At a certain point, it becomes worth asking: what exactly are you defending and at what cost?

Because sending abuse to someone for sharing their personal experience does not protect anyone, it simply extends the same behaviour further down the line.

Here is just a snapshot of some of the DM’s I’ve received in the last week.
Here is just a snapshot of some of the DM’s I’ve received in the last week. Credit: 7News

There was also a particularly strange accusation woven through the noise: the idea that I am somehow “profiting” from this.

I regret to inform those people that this is not how journalism works.

I am a full-time, salaried journalist. I do not receive a bonus every time I have an uncomfortable experience and decide to write about it.

There is no secret payout for being refunded from a wellness retreat and then dealing with a week of hostile Instagram messages.

If anything, the opposite is true. Writing honestly about experiences like this tends to invite scrutiny, not reward.

What I did was exactly what journalists do. I experienced something unusual, documented it factually and shared it. That’s the job.

It’s also been confronting to see tabloids pick up fragments of my story, name me, quote me and frame a narrative in ways that veer into the same kind of harmful rhetoric that has followed Meghan and Prince Harry for years.

To be clear, I want no part in that. I like them both, and sharing my experience was about transparency, not contributing to narratives I don’t stand behind.

And to be clear, the core of the original story has not changed.

  • I registered interest.
  • I was invited.
  • I paid nearly $3000.
  • I was welcomed.
  • I was then removed because of my job, despite no disclosed policy stating media were not allowed.

That is what happened.

Understanding that security around a high-profile figure is tight does not negate the fact that the process itself was poorly communicated.

Both things can be true. In fact, they are.

If anything, acknowledging that reality strengthens the argument.

It was not malicious, but it was mishandled. And that was the point.

Comments left on my Instagram.

What has surprised me most is not that people disagreed — disagreement is healthy — but that the reaction tipped so quickly into personal attack.

Grown women, many of whom the retreat is ostensibly designed to empower, are choosing to direct that energy at another woman for simply recounting her experience.

It raises a broader question about the kind of “community” we are so eager to buy into.

Because if the idea is connection, support and meaningful conversation, then surely that extends beyond the boundaries of a paid weekend.

Surely it includes allowing space for someone to say “this didn’t sit right with me,” without being shouted down and harassed for it.

Not all of the response was negative.

In fact, one woman’s wellness retreat in Melbourne reached out to me directly, offering a place at their own event and acknowledging that what happened didn’t feel fair.

It was a small gesture, but a telling one. Proof that it is possible to engage with criticism without hostility.

As for Her Best Life, I haven’t heard anything further and I don’t expect to.

I do, however, hope that the women who attended the retreat this past weekend and Meghan herself had a genuinely positive experience. That part has never been in question.

What lingers is simply this: there was a version of events where I could have attended as a paying guest, as intended, and none of this would exist.

Instead, I was asked to sit it out.

And when I spoke about it, I was told, loudly and repeatedly, that I shouldn’t have.

That, more than anything, is the part I find hardest to reconcile.

Because if sharing a factual experience invites this level of backlash, it says far less about me than it does about the environment we’ve all somehow agreed to participate in.

And I, for one, am not particularly interested in staying quiet just to make that environment more comfortable.

Regarded as the common ancestor of the Chinese people, the Yellow Emperor is believed to have lived around 5,000 years ago and is considered a founding figure of Chinese civilization. The annual ceremony held on this date has become a major occasion for Chinese communities worldwide to trace their roots and reinforce cultural identity.

The ceremony features nine rituals: ceremonial salutes, flower offerings, hand cleansing and incense, collective homage, reading of the tribute, choral praise, ritual music and dance, blessings for the nation, and prayers for harmony among Heaven, Earth, and humanity—blending tradition with modern expression.

During the choral segment, singers and children from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan performed the Ode to the Yellow Emperor. In the blessing segment, 19 representatives of Chinese descendants from around the world stamped a Bingwu commemorative seal onto a landscape scroll, expressing wishes for peace and stability. The ceremony concluded with nine guests lighting a ceremonial torch as doves and wish balloons were released.

American Airlines falls after company dismisses talk of United megamerger

American Airlines stock fell Monday after the company rejected talk of a potential megamerger with United Airlines late last week.

The legacy U.S. carrier issued a statement Friday, shortly after the markets closed, to dismiss talk of a potential deal between the two airlines.

“American Airlines is not engaged with or interested in any discussions regarding a merger with United Airlines,” it said in the statement.

“While changes in the broader airline marketplace may be necessary, a combination with United would be negative for competition and for consumers, and therefore inconsistent with our understanding of the Administration’s philosophy toward the industry and principles of antitrust law,” it added.

American’s shares fell more than 4% in morning trading, reversing gains enjoyed on Friday amid a broad market rally.

Former United Airlines CEO weighs in on United's potential merger with American Airlines

United CEO Scott Kirby floated a potential merger with rival American with the Trump administration at the White House in February, but the airline is understood to have been considering the idea since at least last fall.

“Size would help” compete on U.S. outbound flights, Kirby said in the “Stratechery” podcast on an episode that aired in January.

He explained that when customers go to the Middle East, they tend to use the region’s airlines.

“[But] if we’re bigger and have more offerings for those customers, possibly, it..[is] more rational for them to fly us when they go to the Middle East.”

A consolidation would create the world’s largest airline, meaning the prospect has invited heavy regulatory scrutiny and concerns that it could create a market monopoly.

The two carriers, along with Delta Air Lines and Southwest Airlines, already dominate about 80% of domestic capacity.

A United-American merger would result in the two having roughly 40% of the domestic share, per airline data firm OAG.

“President Trump, he loves to see big deals happen,” U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy told CNBC’s “Power Lunch” earlier this month, adding there’s “room for mergers in the aviation industry.”

Transportation Sec. Duffy: There's room for airline mergers in the U.S.

However, Duffy flagged: “If there was a merger between some of the larger airlines, they’re going to have to peel off some of their assets. We don’t want to have this massive infrastructure with one airline in America; again, that will affect pricing in the long run, because it would be a lack of competition.”

George Hay, a law professor at Cornell University, previously told CNBC: “This would be the biggest of all time. I can’t even see the slightest chance that a court would allow it.”

Park rangers unearth 200-year-old shipwreck on remote island dubbed ‘graveyard of the Atlantic’

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Park rangers in Canada have uncovered a centuries-old shipwreck in a region known for many maritime disasters.

The shipwreck, which dates back more than 200 years, is believed to be the Swift, a civilian vessel that sank on Sept. 27, 1812.

En route from Bermuda to Newfoundland, the Swift sank along with the British Royal Navy frigate HMS Barbadoes and the schooner Emeline.

WINTER STORMS REVEAL POSSIBLE 17TH-CENTURY SHIPWRECK TIED TO ARMED CARIBBEAN VOYAGES

The discovery of the ship fragments — and the research that followed — was two years in the making.

The discovery was announced by Parks Canada officials last month. The group was first alerted to the site in February 2024 after team members found a pulley wheel with a mark of the British Royal Navy.

“Another Parks Canada team member later found a piece of copper sheathing with multiple broad-arrow stamps and an Admiralty stamp dated January 1810 from Portsmouth, which supported the likelihood that we’d unearthed a small fragment of the Barbadoes — we know from historical accounts that the ship had a refit at Portsmouth in 1810,” the statement said.

“Sable Island is an unusual site to excavate, because it’s composed mostly of loose sand.”

Additional pulley wheels and copper sheathing were uncovered until officials eventually found a sloop-sized shipwreck section made of Bermudan cedar.

The artifacts appeared to belong to Barbadoes — while the shipwreck section pointed to the Swift.

“Initially, only three bits of wood were sticking out of the sand,” the statement said. “We believe the wreck to be that of the Swift.”

Sable Island has a reputation as the “graveyard of the Atlantic,” a Parks Canada spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

The official cited over 350 recorded shipwrecks since 1583.

Many shipwreck fragments, however, can’t be traced back to specific events unless they have “sufficient distinguishing features.”

The official said, “Sometimes, it takes luck.”

The spokesperson added that the dig was difficult due to Sable Island’s windy, challenging weather and unusual terrain.

“This wreck discovery is especially exciting for us,” said a Parks Canada official. (Parks Canada)

Officials worked with Mi’kmaw archaeological technicians alongside both underwater and terrestrial archaeologists to excavate and document the wreck, adapting their methods to Sable Island’s shifting sands.

“Sable Island is an unusual site to excavate, because it’s composed mostly of loose sand,” said the spokesperson.

“We used sandbags to stabilize the banks and then peeled the sand back from the wreck site. We also used a skid steer to help remove the overburden of sand, then switched to hand tools to avoid damaging the wreck.”

When the documentation process was done, archaeologists covered the shipwreck with sand in order to protect it.

“The shipwreck we found was quite far inland from the current shoreline, so we’re also still piecing together how it got there.”

What stood out most to archaeologists, the official said, was the scale of the wreck.

“Most shipwreck pieces on Sable Island are usually small fragments lying on the surface or in the intertidal area,” the spokesperson noted. “This wreck was unusual both in its completeness and its condition.”

The official added, “This wreck discovery is especially exciting for us, because if we can verify it, it’s one of the rare occasions that anyone has been able to correlate a physical shipwreck on Sable Island with a documented historical wreck event from before the 20th century.”

Parks Canada’s statement noted that there are “still plenty of unknowns about the ships, how they ended up on Sable Island and what their crew’s time was like on the island while they waited to be rescued.”

“The shipwreck we found was quite far inland from the current shoreline, so we’re also still piecing together how it got there, as the island moves considerably over time,” the announcement said.

The news comes a year after another archaeological discovery was made at Sable Island — though far more modern.

Last spring, officials announced that a message in a bottle from 1983 surfaced on Sable Island’s shores — and still smelled of gin.

Zak Butters sensationally cleared of umpire abuse after appeals board dismisses tribunal’s verdict

0

Port Adelaide superstar Zak Butters has sensationally had his umpire abuse case thrown out after the appeals board dismissed the tribunal’s original charge.

The verdict puts an end to an eight-day saga that has dominated headlines since Butters allegedly said, “How much are they paying you?” to umpire Nick Foot during the Power’s 14-point loss to St Kilda.

Butters vehemently denied that comment, insisting he said: “Surely that’s not a free kick,” but he will be forced to pay a $1500 fine.

But in the end, none of that mattered as the the conduct of tribunal member Jason Johnson ultimately amounted to an error of law and got the case thrown out.

At Monday’s appeal hearing, Port Adelaide argued that Johnson listening to part of the tribunal while driving his car constitutes a “miscarriage of justice”.

During last week’s tribunal hearing, Johnson dropped off the call briefly as he transferred from his laptop to his car to attend a prior commitment.

Tribunal chair Renee Enborn KC had also set a deadline for the end of the hearing, which meant they didn’t disclose the reasons for their guilty verdict until the following day.

But Port Adelaide legal counsel Paul Ehrlich KC centered their argument on Johnson, who was “driving during the final submissions and also deliberations”.

“It was inexplicable and amounted to a miscarriage of justice. It was conduct that ought to be disclosed and wasn’t disclosed,” Ehrlich argued.

“This was not a mere change in platform … it is to be inferred his mind was elsewhere through final submissions because he was conscious he had to leave or be late for his open inspection.

“Whether Johnson heard all the deliberations or not, the fact of the matter is he could not have been properly considering while he was driving a motor vehicle.”

In a funny sidenote, Ehrlich apologised for his dogs barking in the background while making his submissions.

Arguing for the AFL, Albert Dinelli KC said that while Johnson’s actions were regrettable, he was only disconnected for one minute and 22 seconds.

“It not clear if anything was missed … that (period of time) alone could not rise to the standard that is being described,” he said.

“It was a minor lapse and not one that could be described as serious.

“It is not said that he was not paying attention at all, albeit driving for part of the submissions and present for the deliberations.”

The appeals board, made up of Will Houghton (Chair), Stephen Jurica and Richard Loveridge, took just under 30 minutes to make their decision.

They offered a re-hearing, but the AFL had earlier confirmed they will not seek a re-trial, so Butters is in the clear on a technicality.

The AFL released a statement shortly after the verdict.

“The AFL apologises for the inconvenience caused to the parties for the error of law that has led to this outcome, in particular Zak Butters, Ollie Wines and Ben Rutten of the Port Adelaide Football Club and AFL umpire Nick Foot,” they said.

“The AFL reiterates its strong support for the AFL tribunal and all of those who make an important contribution to the conduct of the AFL disciplinary system, including former players who lend an important perspective to these matters. The AFL also expresses its strong support for umpires at all levels and the vital role they play in our sport.

“The AFL will now reflect on the reasons of the appeal board and learnings from tonight’s outcome.”

Last week, the tribunal said they were “satisfied to the requisite standard” Butters had made the offending comment.

“It is implausible that Mr Foot would invent the offending comment,” the tribunal’s judgment said.

“It was put to him that there were several distractions and that he had misheard what Mr Butters said. We also consider that to be implausible.”

Butters vehemently denied that comment, insisting he said: “Surely that’s not a free kick.”

The flashpoint came when Foot paid a free kick to St Kilda’s Mitch Owens, prompting Port’s Ollie Wines and Butters to protest.

“The comment that Butters made to me was ‘How much are they paying you?’” Foot told the tribunal.

“It questioned my integrity. I’m 100 per cent adamant that those are the words Zak Butters said to me.”

But Butters said he was “100 per cent sure” he did not make that remark.
