Retired AFL star Dylan Shiel lands coaching gig at St Kilda after a ‘few attempts’ to join as player

0

Retired AFL veteran Dylan Shiel has landed a new job with St Kilda as a development coach.

Shiel called time in on playing career late last year after he was delisted by Essendon despite featuring in 14 senior games for the Bombers.

At the time, the 32-year-old had hoped to continue his career at another club, but that never eventuated.

Shiel, who had been linked to the Saints multiple times throughout his playing career, will work in the development program alongside Brendon Goddard and under the leadership of Damian Carroll.

He revealed it was new footy boss Lenny Hayes who approached him after the pair spent time together at the GWS Giants.

“Super excited to be joining the Saints … Bayside boy growing up, had a few attempts to join as a player, super grateful to be joining the club,” Shiel said.

“Took a bit of a breath with my family to decompress after my retirement … football as an industry I’ve just grown to love and it’s given me great opportunity to fulfill my dreams.

“I had an itch to explore the coaching space, and luckily, through the connection with Lenny (Hayes) … it was really fortunate for him to reach out to me and offer me the development role.”

Shiel said he was excited to work alongside coach Ross Lyon and senior assistant Corey Enright.

“A big part of the decision to want to do this was to work with really good people, and they have that here at St Kilda,” he continued.

“Super excited, played a bit of footy against the current staff, maybe not Robert Harvey — used to collect his card as an Auskicker.

“I couldn’t be more excited to take on this role and work alongside Ross Lyon, Corey Enright and the wider St Kilda coaching group.

“I’ve been fortunate to learn from some outstanding coaches and teammates throughout my career, and I’m excited to apply those lessons in a new way.”

Hayes was delighted to welcome Shiel to the club and continue the relationship they formed at the Giants.

“We’re really pleased to have a person of Dylan’s character and experience joining our program,” Hayes said.

“Dylan’s relentless pursuit of excellence – as a player and now a coach – sets a standard we want across our entire club and one which will help our driven group of young midfielders get better every day.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming Dylan, his wife Georgie and daughters Sloane and Blaire to the Saints family.”

Starting his career at the Giants, Shiel quickly established himself as one of the game’s best midfielders.

He achieved All-Australian selection in 2017 before joining Essendon at the end of the following season in a blockbuster trade.

With the big-money move to the Bombers came extra scrutiny and Shiel battled form and injury issues throughout his time at the club.

He finishes his career with 234 AFL games to his name; 135 with the Giants and 99 with the Bombers.

A recent report is shining a light on popular destinations considered the “worst” for tourists to visit because they fall short of the hype they’ve received over the years.

Analysts looked at more than 100 tourist attractions around the world and came up with a list of the “worst” destinations that “underwhelm visitors despite their global fame,” according to the report.

Stasher, a travel company specializing in luggage storage, released the findings based on Google Reviews ratings, TikTok engagement, airport accessibility, country safety and local accommodation quality.

Grabbing the “worst” label of all was the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.

“Located [23 miles] from the LAX airport, this sidewalk of celebrity stars had the lowest Google rating and safety score,” analysts noted.

“The area is run down, dirty and full of shady figures,” one person wrote on Trip Advisor. “Prices in restaurants and shops are completely different. Celebrities are hardly met here, but [there are] plenty of homeless people. We walked down the street once and then moved on quickly.”

“It’s an iconic piece of Hollywood.”

One tourist wrote, “If you’ve never been to Hollywood before, then the Walk of Fame is definitely worth seeing. Famous throughout the years, it’s an iconic piece of Hollywood.”

Kelun-Biotech Showcases Innovative Achievements and Future Development Strategy at the 44th Annual JPM Healthcare Conference

0

CHENGDU, China, Jan. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — From January 12 to 15, 2026, the 44th J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference (JPMHC) was held in San Francisco, California, USA. Dr. Ge Michael, President and CEO of Sichuan Kelun-Biotech Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (“Kelun-Biotech” or the “Company”, 6990.HK), was invited to attend the conference and delivered a keynote speech on the morning of January 15 (local time) and presented the Company’s latest achievements in drug R&D, commercialization, and globalization, and outlined its innovation strategy and future development plans.

Since initiating its innovation journey in 2012, Kelun-Biotech has rapidly emerged as a leader in China’s innovative drug field, building differentiated technology platforms and robust R&D pipelines. Leveraging its global leading OptiDC™ platform for antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and novel drug conjugates (DCs), the Company continuously advances the differentiated development of ADCs and novel DCs, forming a gradient portfolio for treating multiple tumor types. Currently, Kelun-Biotech has two ADC products on market: sacituzumab tirumotecan (sac-TMT, 佳泰莱®) and trastuzumab botidotin (舒泰莱®), covering breast cancer and lung cancer indications. Additionally, nine uniquely designed ADC and novel DC drugs—including cutting-edge directions such as bispecific ADC and radiopharmaceutical conjugate (RDC) are in clinical stage. For high-incidence tumor types in China, such as breast cancer, lung cancer, and gastrointestinal tumors, the Company has initiated nine pivotal studies, while multiple Phase II clinical studies targeting gynecological tumors are progressing steadily. Furthermore, Kelun-Biotech has also developed several non-DC candidates and expanded indications into non-oncology areas.

Over the past year, Kelun-Biotech has presented multiple research findings at international academic conferences and published in authoritative journals: three were selected for oral presentations at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting, and three were selected as Late-Breaking Abstracts (LBA) for oral presentations at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress. Among these, the results of the OptiTROP-Lung04 study of sac-TMT for treating EGFR-mutant Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) after TKI therapy were presented at the Presidential Symposium session of ESMO and simultaneously published in The New England Journal of Medicine, highlighting its global academic and clinical value.

In terms of commercialization, Kelun-Biotech has formed a competitive initial product portfolio. Its core product, the TROP2-directed ADC sac-TMT, has been approved in China for three indications: second-line and above triple-negative breast cancer, second-line and third-line EGFR-mutated NSCLC. The HER2-directed ADC trastuzumab botidotin was approved last year for second-line and above HER2-positive breast cancer, becoming the first domestically developed HER2-directed ADC approved for this indication. Furthermore, the anti-EGFR monoclonal antibody Cetuximab N01 (达泰莱®) for RAS wild-type colorectal cancer and the anti-PD-L1 monoclonal antibody tagitanlimab (科泰莱®) for nasopharyngeal carcinoma have been launched. Another small-molecule RET inhibitor A400 is expected to be approved within the year, bringing the total number of commercialized products in China to five. Currently, three of the Company’s commercialized products, covering five indications, have been included in the National Reimbursement Drug List (NRDL), further benefiting a broad population of cancer patients.

While strengthening its presence in the domestic market, Kelun-Biotech is actively expanding overseas. It has established collaborations with MSD, Ellipses, Windward Bio and Crescent Biopharma to maximize the value of its pipeline value and corporate worth. Among these, MSD is evaluating 16 global Phase III clinical studies of sac-TMT.

The breakthroughs in both clinical development and commercialization are driven by the Company’s sustained investment in innovative R&D. With over a decade of accumulation in the ADC field, Kelun-Biotech’s proprietary OptiDC™ platform enables differentiated design of drug candidates, which combines specific targets or targeting mechanisms with the most suitable payload-linker strategy to balance efficacy and safety. Additionally, the company is adopting a “multi-pronged” innovation strategy to continuously enhance platform capabilities. By exploring novel targets, new payloads, and diverse conjugation technologies, it is expanding the application boundaries across both oncology and non-oncology fields.

Looking ahead, Kelun-Biotech will consolidate its foundations in R&D, technologies, platforms, and operations by executing five key development strategies. Concurrently, the Company will elevate its globalization strategy, enhancing its capabilities in product development, registration, and commercialization in ex-China market, advancing on its path to becoming a world-class biopharmaceutical company.

Please refer to the “Investor Relations-Investor Calendar” page of the company’s official website for the presentation materials. You can visit the website for further details.

“The Insiders Forum” by Travellive Media Group: Trends Shaping Tourism Strategy

0

HANOI, Vietnam, Jan. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — As Vietnam’s tourism sector enters a post-pandemic restructuring phase, trends with the potential to generate long-term value are increasingly taking centre stage in the industry’s development strategies. Against this backdrop, The Insiders Forum – a deep-dive seminar series within the HOTLIST Travellive Editor’s Pick initiative organised by Travellive Media Group has been established as a professional dialogue platform to examine new growth drivers shaping Vietnam’s tourism industry within a broader regional context.

Within the 2025 theme “The Journey from Seed to Harvest”, The Insiders Forum highlights the principles of sustainable development, long-term vision, and values cultivated over time, reflecting priorities that are shaping the future of tourism.

The Insiders Forum Hanoi held on 7 January at Sheraton Hanoi West, attracted more than 300 participants including industry experts, business leaders, and senior representatives from across the tourism and hospitality sectors. The event featured prominent speakers such as Ms. Hildegard Anzenberger (General Manager, Capella Hanoi), Mr. Mario Mendis (General Manager, Fusion Resort & Villas Da Nang), Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Huy (Climate Change Research Expert) and other speakers. The presence of professional speakers with strong practical expertise and strategic perspectives underscored the forum’s professional credibility and the depth of its industry dialogue.

Discussions at The Insiders Forum Hanoi reflected the strong recovery momentum of Vietnam’s tourism sector, which is laying the groundwork for significant structural shifts. Tourism revenue in 2025 is estimated to exceed VND 1 quadrillion, representing an increase of approximately 19% compared to 2024 and marking the highest annual revenue level recorded to date.

The forum focused on high value-added segments, including luxury tourism, wellness and medical tourism, aviation connectivity, as well as the role of local identity and cultural heritage in shaping destination experiences. Panel discussions emphasised that Vietnam’s competitive advantage does not lie in low costs or mass-scale offerings, but rather in its ability to integrate natural landscapes, culture, service quality, and personalised experiences into differentiated tourism products.

Organised in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, The Insiders Forum goes beyond trend updates to position itself as a strategic dialogue platform, connecting industry professionals and fostering a more in-depth, sustainable approach to tourism development.

Following the Hanoi event, The Insiders Forum Ho Chi Minh City will take place on 19 January at JW Marriott Hotel & Suites Saigon. The forum will explore key factors shaping the industry’s next development phase, with in-depth discussions on destination marketing, MICE and the practical challenges of translating market potential into sustainable competitive advantages for Vietnam amid intensifying regional competition.

Through this seminar series, Travellive Media Group continues to affirm its role as a specialised industry media platform, one that not only reflects market developments, but also actively contributes to shaping industry thinking, standards, and long-term development pathways for Vietnam’s tourism sector.

Late NASCAR star Greg Biffle’s home burglarised weeks after tragic death

0

Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an alleged break-in and theft last week at the North Carolina home of retired NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, one of seven people who died in a plane crash last month.

The alleged burglary and forcible entry into the Biffle home in Mooresville was reported on January 8, according to an incident report from the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Darren Campbell on Wednesday said that investigators believe someone entered a safe in the home.

Know the news with the 7NEWS app: Download today Arrow

In addition to US$30,000 (A$45,000) in cash and a backpack identified in the incident report as stolen, Campbell said some guns and memorabilia also are gone.

Campbell said no arrests have been made, and that no one else was in the home at the time of the alleged crimes.

The incident report said the home was last known secure the afternoon of January 7.

“We’re working the case. We are waiting on some digital evidence,” Campbell said, adding that interviews also were being conducted.

A business jet carrying Biffle, Biffle’s wife and two children and three others crashed on December 18 while trying to return to an airport in Statesville — located about 45 miles (72 kilometers) north of Charlotte — minutes after taking off from there.

Federal investigators said the Cessna C550 erupted into a large fire when it hit the ground short of the runway. Everyone on board died.

No cause of the crash has been released.

Biffle was one of three people on board with a pilot’s license. Investigators said during the crash’s immediate aftermath that they didn’t know who was the lead pilot on the flight.

A public memorial service for Biffle, who won 19 NASCAR Cup Series races over his career, and the six others killed is scheduled for Friday morning at a Charlotte arena.
