As we begin making tentative plans for summer and the festive season, many Aussies are giving their spare rooms a refresh.
Rather than letting a bulky bed frame take up valuable space when it’s only used once a year, savvy shoppers are ditching unused furniture and investing in pieces they’ll actually use.
Koala has just dropped a brand-new sofa bed, The Paddo, and it’s actually made to be used every day.

With three different modes, you can sit upright with proper support, lie back in daybed mode or stretch out to sleep.
Available in sizes ranging from a single to a 3.5-seater king, this sleek new arrival comes in luxe-looking velvet and bouclé-like fabrics, making it the perfect statement sofa for a living space or spare room.
Like many Koala products, several sizes are already selling out fast — so if you want to get your hands on this new arrival, you’ll have to get in quick.
The Paddo Sofa Bed is the latest addition to furniture and bedding brand Koala’s range, and it might just be one of the most stylish arrivals of the year.
It’s even named after one of Sydney’s most stylish suburbs.
“Paddington is the kind of place people gravitate to. We wanted to build the piece that makes your home that place,” says James Whitta, Chief Design Officer.
More than just a bed or a comfy sofa, this new model can be used in four different ways.
You can sit up, lie back, spread out or sleep flat. It’s designed to take pride of place in your favourite room in the house — not just the spare one.
Prices start at $2,390 for a single-seater in a standard fabric and go up to $3,590 for a 3.5-seater in a luxe fabric.
Koala’s new Paddo Sofa Bed may be a recent addition, but it’s already making waves on social media.
Aussies say they’re “obsessed” with the “gorgeous” look and feel of the design. “Off the floor yes! I love this design and material choice. Well done team,” wrote one Instagram user.
Designed for gathering and lounging, it’s a gorgeous addition to any home as we prepare for the festive season.
If you’re planning on hosting friends and family, this sofa bed can be transformed into a lie-flat bed in just a few minutes.
Gone are the days of boring spare rooms dominated by a bed frame that rarely gets used. The Paddo Sofa Bed is stylish enough to enjoy every day.
