Titans star Keano Kini pulls off play of the year to sink Broncos in dying stages

0

Gold Coast fullback Keano Kini conjured up the attacking play of the season to sink Brisbane 28-23 and leave the premiers’ title defence in ruins.

A 73rd-minute Adam Reynolds field goal appeared to have taken the Broncos to victory at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday, before Kini, from 55m out, chipped ahead and snatched the ball from Reece Walsh’s grasp to race away in the 77th minute.

Kini then saved a last-gasp try attempt by the Broncos when he knocked the ball dead to secure one of the club’s great wins and break a five-game losing streak.

“Special players do special things,” Titans coach Josh Hannay said.

“We love that young lad because he might drop a ball early but it doesn’t stop him. He keeps going after the contest, and he went after it right to the very end and came up with a special play.

“There’s a lot of good things happening at the club, but winning is the most important. It gives the players confidence and everyone belief in what we are doing.”

The Titans showed incredible resilience to turn the Broncos away at the death

Brisbane have now lost five matches in a row and sit in 11th position.

The Broncos were wearing their all-black mental health jersey, the same one they donned against the Titans last year in round 14 when a win kick-started a 10-2 finish to the season and a run to the title.

In a detail of symmetry, they had a 5-7 start to the season last year before the Titans clash, exactly the same beginning they had made to this season. History did not repeat itself.

Ezra Mam, on the extended bench for Queensland in the State of Origin series opener, has been demoted to the bench by Broncos coach Michael Maguire for poor form, but entered the fray in the 15th minute when his replacement Tom Duffy suffered a category-two head knock.

The dazzling five-eighth made an immediate impact with four tackle busts, but was replaced after a 15-minute stint when Duffy came back on.

The Titans’ inability to defuse a Reynolds bomb cost them when the Broncos skipper backed up his kick in the next set of six to put second-rower Brendan Piakura over.

Mam split the defence down the left and centre Kotoni Staggs scored in the right corner to make it 12-0.

Titans supersub Kurtis Morrin, one of their best this season, had the presence of mind and the commitment to win the race after Broncos forward Jack Gosiewski dropped the ball near his own tryline.

Titans winger Phil Sami busted through a feeble attempt at tackle by Ben Hunt and then ran straight around Walsh, who was suffering from a cork, with ease in a sensational 70m run to the line.

Walsh and second-rower Gosiewski were seen having a stern discussion with each other after the try as the Broncos took a 12-10 lead into the break.

Brilliant play by Klese Haas and AJ Brimson sent five-eighth Jayden Campbell in under the sticks and the Titans had the lead after 50 minutes.

Campbell zig-zagged his way to his second with individual brilliance, but a crucial Haas error gifted the Broncos the ball and Duffy put Jesse Arthars over out wide.

Mam came on for Duffy again in the 61st minute, but it was Piakura who came up with a stunning ball for Grant Anderson to level

Reynolds stepped up, before Kini came up with a play for the ages to win it.

Cramer’s week ahead: Stocks face pressure from rates, oil, and a flood of new offerings

0

May employment number was so hot , many bond traders are now predicting a rate hike, says Jim Cramer

CNBC’s Jim Cramer on Friday warned that a combination of rising interest rates, elevated oil prices, and a wave of new stock offerings could continue to pressure the market in the week ahead.

“You’re looking at a market that’s hostage to interest rates and high oil, coupled with a monster amount of new stock coming through the pipeline that can’t be bought unless investors sell something else,” said the “Mad Money” host.

All three of the major indexes closed lower after a stronger-than-expected jobs report pushed Treasury yields higher and diminished hopes for near-term rate cuts. Investors also grappled with the prospect of major capital raises across the artificial intelligence industry, including the highly anticipated SpaceX offering.

“Today was the day when people started raising the money…to participate in the upcoming mega IPOs,” Cramer said.

Against that backdrop, Cramer turned to the key earnings reports and events he’ll be watching in the week ahead.

Monday

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference kicks off. While investors have long questioned the company’s AI strategy, Cramer said Apple’s decision not to spend aggressively on AI infrastructure increasingly looks like the right call.

“It’s a big reason why the stock’s been flying while the buyers of big tech are getting crushed,” he said.

Food company Campbell’s also reports. Cramer said the packaged-food industry remains under intense pressure from weak growth, GLP-1 drugs, and limited pricing power.

After the close, Vail Resorts reports. While the stock has rebounded recently, Cramer questioned whether consumers facing high gasoline prices will continue spending on vacations.

Tuesday

After the bell, Cracker Barrel reports. The stock is up for the year, but still down from its highs a few years ago. “I’d love to be a buyer, but we have to see some earnings growth,” Cramer said.

Wednesday

Chewy reports in the morning. Following a disappointing quarter from Petco, Cramer said investors will learn whether consumers are beginning to cut back on pet-related purchases.

Cramer said Oracle, which reports after the bell, was early to recognize the opportunity in building data centers and its results should provide another read on AI infrastructure spending.

Thursday

Software maker Adobe, which continues to face pressure from cheaper AI-powered alternatives, reports. Even after a sharp decline, Cramer said the stock is “not low enough to own.”

Homebuilder Lennar also reports as elevated interest rates continue to weigh on housing demand.

Friday

With SpaceX expected to debut on the Nasdaq on June 12, Cramer said he hopes investors will soon finish raising the cash needed to participate in the deal.

“Let’s get this over with, so this market can resume its advance,” he said, arguing that stocks may struggle to move higher as long as investors sell existing holdings to fund a growing pipeline of new offerings.

SynbioTech Launches SYNMUE™ Targeting Immunosenescence, to Showcase at Probiota Americas 2026 in Vancouver

Clinical Study Showed Up to 48% Natural Killer Cell Increase with probiotic strain LP281

VANCOUVER, BC, June 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Synbio Tech Inc. (SynbioTech), a global leader in biotechnology solutions, today announced the launch of SYNMUE™, a clinically validated probiotic featuring Lactiplantibacillus plantarum LP28, designed to target immune aging, also known as immunosenescence. The company will showcase SYNMUE™ at Probiota Americas 2026, taking place June 8–10 in Vancouver, Canada, where SynbioTech will meet with brand owners, distributors, and formulation partners seeking science-backed healthy aging solutions.

The launch marks SynbioTech’s expansion into the emerging immune aging category following the completion of its latest human clinical study on LP28. As Natural Killer (NK) cell activity naturally declines with age, reduced immune surveillance is increasingly recognized as a hallmark of immune aging. The randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study evaluated adults aged 50 to 75 years with a history of recurrent upper respiratory tract infections and provides the clinical basis for positioning LP28 as a microbiome-based solution for immune resilience in older adults.

These findings demonstrate that LP28 may help alleviate age-related immune decline when used in targeted applications.

Up to 48% Higher NK Cell Activity in Adults 50+ Suggests Stronger Immune Support

In the 12-week intervention, participants receiving LP28 showed up to a 48% increase in NK cell cytotoxic activity from baseline, while placebo responses remained largely unchanged. NK cells are a key component of the innate immune system and serve as one of the body’s front-line defense mechanisms by identifying and eliminating virus-infected and abnormal cells1.

By supporting NK cell function, LP28 may help address one of the key biological mechanisms associated with age-related immune decline. The clinical result strengthens SYNMUE™ as a microbiome-based solution for partners focused on long-term immune resilience.

SYNMUE™ Targets the Growing Healthy Aging Market

According to market research estimates, the global immune health supplements market was valued at more than USD 35 billion in 2024 and is projected to exceed USD 76 billion by 2033. Meanwhile, the United Nations forecasts that the global population aged 65 and older will more than double, from 761 million in 2021 to 1.6 billion by 2050, creating increasing demand for solutions that support healthy aging and long-term resilience.

However, few nutritional solutions have targeted immunosenescence, the age-related decline of immune function that contributes to increased susceptibility to infections, slower recovery, and reduced physiological resilience. “SYNMUE™ was developed to address a critical dimension of healthy aging that has often been overlooked,” said Sean Yang, Chief Operating Officer of SynbioTech. “As people live longer, maintaining immune resilience becomes increasingly important for preserving healthspan.”

While many immune solutions focus on short-term support, SYNMUE™ was developed to address immune aging through a clearly defined biological pathway centered on NK cell activity.

Clinical Evidence Supports Better Immune Regulation and Fewer Common Colds

The researchers also observed favorable changes in immune-related biomarkers, including increased interleukin-12 (IL-12) and reduced C-reactive protein (CRP), suggesting improved immune regulation and reduced inflammatory burden1.

Participants receiving LP28 also experienced a substantially lower incidence of common colds during the intervention period1. Together, these findings suggest that improvements in NK cell activity and immune regulation may translate into meaningful real-world benefits for aging adults.

This mechanism is reflected in SYNMUE™’s brand concept, “Wake Your Natural Killer,” which represents the solution’s focus on restoring immune resilience through clinically validated microbiome science.

Unlike conventional immune support products focused primarily on seasonal wellness, SYNMUE™ is positioned around immune aging and long-term immune resilience, providing brand partners with a differentiated solution supported by both mechanistic and clinical evidences.

Expanding Healthy Aging Portfolio Across Immune and Muscle Resilience

While SYNMUE™ focuses on immune resilience through NK cell activation, the company’s flagship ingredient, TWK10®, addresses another critical dimension of aging: muscle resilience.

Backed by multiple human clinical studies, TWK10® has been demonstrated benefits in muscle strength, endurance, recovery, and protein utilization through modulation of the gut-muscle axis2,3,4,5,6. The ingredient has received international recognition, including Sports Nutrition Ingredient of the Year at the NutraIngredients Europe Awards 2026 and first place in the Sports Nutrition & Active Lifestyle Ingredient category at the Vitafoods Europe Innovation Awards 2026.

Together, TWK10® and SYNMUE™ reflect SynbioTech’s expanding vision for healthy aging, supporting both muscle and immune resilience through clinically validated microbiome science.

Showcasing Healthy Aging Innovation at Probiota Americas 2026

SynbioTech will showcase its healthy aging innovations at Probiota Americas 2026, taking place June 8–10 in Vancouver, Canada.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore SYNMUE™, the company’s newly launched probiotic designed to support healthy immune aging, while learning more about TWK10® and SynbioTech’s broader healthy aging strategy.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore SYNMUE™, our newly launched, while learning more about TWK10® and SynbioTech’s broader healthy aging strategy.

As part of the official scientific program, Dr. Hsiao-Wen Huang, Senior Scientist of Microbiome & Functional Innovation at SynbioTech, will present a session titled:
“From Microbiome to Muscle: Redefining Strength and Resilience for Healthspan”

The presentation will explore how microbiome modulation can drive functional outcomes beyond gut health, highlighting TWK10® as a model for supporting muscle strength, recovery, and resilience across different life stages.

Brand owners, distributors, and formulation partners are invited to meet the SynbioTech team to explore licensing, commercialization, and product development opportunities for both SYNMUE™ and TWK10®.

“Healthy aging is multidimensional,” COO Yang added. “Preserving muscle function and immune resilience are both essential to extending healthspan. Through SYNMUE™ and TWK10®, we are building science-backed microbiome solutions designed to help people age stronger, stay resilient, and live better.”

Live Insect Exhibition “Bug Squad” Featuring Over 50 Species Makes Its Debut — Three “World-Class” Stars Become Must-Visit Photo Spots
The “Bug Squad” makes its debut at the Expo, offering visitors young and old a life education experience that goes beyond the classroom. The exhibition showcases over 50 rare insect species from around the globe, including katydids, mantises, dynastid and stag beetles, stick insects, beetles, and arthropods. Three “world-class” star specimens command the most attention: the “Giant Chinese stick insect”, the world’s longest insect species; the “Jungle nymph,” the world’s heaviest insect species; and the “Violin Beetle” (Mormolyce), a creature most people have only ever glimpsed in documentaries. This unique exhibition provides a rare opportunity for the public to observe and appreciate these extraordinary creatures up close. Through close-up observation of the live insects’ physical forms, behaviors, and ecological roles, visitors can experience the wonders of biodiversity firsthand, nurturing curiosity about and respect for different forms of life, understanding the irreplaceable value of every species within an ecosystem, and inspiring the next generation to cherish nature and treasure all living things.

Hong Kong’s First Large-Scale Indoor Reptile Carnival Launches — Immersive Beetle Pavilion “Beetle Forest” Makes a Welcome Return
Hong Kong’s first major indoor reptile activity space, the “Reptilia Carnival,” is tailor-made for reptile enthusiasts. It features a dedicated lounge and social area where owners can bring their beloved reptile companions, meet fellow hobbyists, and browse a curated reptile marketplace stocked with a full range of supplies. Complemented by immersive photo backdrops and fun reptile workshops, the Carnival provides a one-stop gathering point for the reptile community.

At the same time, the immersive “Beetle Forest” pavilion, which proved hugely popular at last year’s Expo, makes a welcome return, allowing visitors to appreciate their unique ecology. On display are numerous spectacular beetle species, including the “Hercules Beetle” (Dynastes hercules), the world’s largest insect; the king of beetles, the Rhinoceros Beetle; the colorful Rainbow Stag Beetle; the “Borneo Atlas Beetle,” one of Asia’s largest dynastid beetles; the largest Eastern Hercules Beetle (Dynastes tityus) bred in Hong Kong — a record-holder surpassing Japan — and the nationally beloved “Japanese Giant Stag Beetle” (Dorcus hopei binodulosus). Visitors can immerse themselves in the insects’ natural world, observing at their leisure and even placing beetles on their hands for photos. Admission to this activity requires a separate ticket. The first 300 ticket holders each day will receive a complimentary random beetle keychain on a first-come, first-served basis.

World Cup Fever Sweeps the Venue — “Doggy Games” Infused with Football Fun as Furry Friends Transform into Stars
The popular “Olympets” returns with a host of entertaining competitive events, including the 50-foot sprint, Triathlon of Iron Dogs, and the weave-and-obstacle relay. To ride the wave of 2026 FIFA World Cup excitement, this year’s Games feature special football-themed elements, while a World Cup–themed photo zone invites furry companions and their owners to soak up the football frenzy together. Local pet apparel brand Momoji (Booth: 3D-F18) has also seized the moment to launch its new “MOMOJI FC” collection, drawing design inspiration from eight world-class football jerseys to create pet-exclusive scarves that transform beloved companions into pitch-side stars, ready to join their owners in celebrating the quadrennial football extravaganza.

Leading Brands Make Their Expo Debut — Cross-Industry Players Tap into the Pet Market

“At Toyota, sport is a reflection of the human experience — the hope, the doubt, the dignity in defeat and the joy of moving forward together.

Across Asia, our seven Global Team Toyota Athletes embody that spirit, and it is our privilege to stand beside these athletes that continue to inspire and demonstrate how far dedication and courage can take them, both in competition and beyond.

Their journeys highlight the power of sport and its ability to open up new possibilities. Through Move Your World, we aim to support their ambitions in the lead-up to Aichi-Nagoya 2026, and to work alongside them in creating lasting impact in the communities that shaped them.” — Preston Tan, Vice President, Toyota Motor Asia

Dual Hero Projects: Turning Athlete Journeys into Community Impact

As part of the long-standing partnership with athletes in Asia, Toyota continues to drive positive impact through its Dual Hero Projects. Launched in 2018, the initiative pairs each athlete with a Toyota-supported project tied to a cause they care deeply about – extending their impact beyond competition and into the communities that shaped them. Since its inception, the programme has supported over 20 athlete-led initiatives across the region.

In Singapore, Paralympic swimmer Toh Wei Soong co-created a 16-piece adaptive fashion collection that challenges perceptions of disability through inclusive design. In the Philippines, Paralympic champion Ernie Gawilan led a nationwide coastal cleanup and mangrove restoration initiative, mobilizing more than 1,300 volunteers across 33 sites and planting over 10,000 mangroves – restoring the very waters that accompanied his journey as an athlete.

Similar Dual Hero Projects will be developed with each Asia GTTA across the span of our partnership with them.

Sport at the heart of Move Your World

As preparations for Aichi-Nagoya 2026 begin, Toyota’s expanded Asia athlete line-up brings together athletes who are not only striving for sporting excellence but also working to move their communities forward. Through sport, advocacy and local action, their journeys reflect the spirit of Move Your World – a belief that movement is most powerful when it opens doors for others.

Eratrectinib, the next-generation TRK inhibitor independently developed by Vcare PharmaTech, has received marketing approval

0

NANJING, China, June 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — NTRK gene fusions have been identified as oncogenic drivers in adult and pediatric patients with pan-solid tumors. A fusion gene is typically formed by the combination of an NTRK gene containing a kinase domain and its fusion partner gene. To date, more than 229 fusion partner genes have been discovered, giving rise to 358 unique fusion-tumor pairings. Patients harboring such fusions generally have a poor prognosis. For advanced solid tumor patients who do not receive targeted therapy, the median overall survival ranges from 10.2 to 12.7 months, and these patients are also at a higher risk of brain metastasis. Meanwhile, the loss of the extracellular domain in NTRK fusions renders antibody-based therapies ineffective. Currently, treatment primarily relies on small-molecule TRK inhibitors that target the kinase domain.1-3

In terms of tumor type distribution, NTRK fusions are characterized by rare mutations with broad tumor spectrum distribution. On one hand, the incidence of NTRK fusions reaches up to 90% in rare malignancies such as secretory breast carcinoma and infantile fibrosarcoma, and ranges from 5% to 25% in papillary thyroid carcinoma and Spitzoid melanoma. On the other hand, real-world data from approximately 295,000 solid tumor patients worldwide indicate that NTRK fusion-positive cases account for a larger absolute number of patients among common cancer types. Collectively, NTRK fusion-positive patients with non-small cell lung cancer, breast cancer, soft tissue sarcoma and colorectal cancer make up nearly 50% of all affected cases, representing the key population requiring close clinical attention. In addition, the prevalence of NTRK fusions is higher in East Asian populations, with an overall incidence of approximately 0.4% among Chinese patients. It is estimated that more than 15,000 new cases of NTRK fusion-positive solid tumors are diagnosed in China each year.4-5

Breaking News: Domestic Next-Generation Tumor-Agnostic Targeted Drug Eratrectinib Approved

On June 4, the official website of the NMPA announced that Vcare PharmaTech’s Class 1 new drug, Eratrectinib, has been approved for marketing in China. It is indicated for adult and adolescent patients with advanced solid tumors harboring NTRK gene fusions.

Efficacy Breakthrough: Eratrectinib Delivers Comprehensive Clinical Benefits

Eratrectinib is a next-generation TRK inhibitor independently developed by Jiangsu Vcare PharmaTech Co.,Ltd.. In pivotal registration clinical trials for patients with NTRK fusion-positive solid tumors, this pan-tumor anticancer agent has demonstrated outstanding efficacy and safety.

Registration study results showed an ORR of 68.5% and a DCR of 85.2%. Among patients followed up for more than 6 months, the ORR reached 89.7% and the DCR was 100%, with a mOS of 40.7 months.6

In terms of long-term clinical benefits, Eratrectinib also achieved impressive results in PFS and DOR. The 2-year PFS rate stood at 75.7% and the 2-year DOR rate hit 85.5%, fully proving that the drug can deliver sustained disease control and long-term remission for patients.

Furthermore, for patients with baseline brain metastases, the ORR was as high as 87.5%. For patients previously treated with TRK-TKIs, the ORR reached 47.4%, reflecting robust therapeutic efficacy across these patient groups.

New Hope for Patients with NTRK Fusion Resistance

As a next-generation TRK inhibitor independently developed in China, Eratrectinib delivers durable and deep tumor remission, with potent brain penetration and a favorable overall safety profile. Different from the linear structure of first-generation TRK inhibitors, Eratrectinib features a cyclic molecular structure. Structural optimization reduces off-target risks and effectively prevents the emergence of drug-resistant mutations, endowing the agent with the anti-resistance mechanisms characteristic of second-generation TRK inhibitors.

Western Bulldogs defender Nick Coffield makes match-winning spoil to sink Hawthorn in AFL thriller

0

Unsung Western Bulldogs defender Nick Coffield has won the admiration and respect of his teammates after a match-winning spoil in the dying seconds of his side’s clash with Hawthorn.

Trailing by six points with only seconds left on the clock, the Hawks had one last chance at a score when Dylan Moore found himself in a pocket of space at half forward.

Moore looked certain to take an uncontested mark and send the ball inside 50 — but Coffield had other ideas.

The former St Kilda defender left his direct opponent and came from a long way back to make the spoil before collecting his own crumbs and pumping it inside the Bulldogs’ forward 50 as the siren sounded on their pulsating 9.17 (71) to 12.5 (77) win at the MCG.

And it didn’t go unnoticed by Coffield’s teammates, who all rushed to him from every corner of the ground to celebrate the courageous act.

Coffield becomes the second unlikely Bulldogs hero in two weeks after Michael Sellwood took a match-saving mark against Collingwood last Saturday.

Speaking to Channel 7 after the game, Coffield said it was a “stressful” last few moments.

“We’re sort of used to it the moment, our last four or five games have all come down to the wire,” he said.

“As you saw, ‘Sellers’ last week had his moment. I got lucky with one in the middle, I was able to cut it off.

“But I think the composure of the boys throughout the whole last quarter was awesome.”

Coffield has battled injury and form for most of his nine-year career since being taken by St Kilda with pick No.8 in the 2017 draft.

He didn’t play a single game at AFL level in 2022 or 2023 before getting traded to the Bulldogs ahead of the 2024 season.

The 26-year-old managed just 12 games at the Kennel in his first two seasons and didn’t break into the senior team until Round 8 this year.

But Coffield has played every game since then and finally looks capable of living up to the billing that comes with a top-10 draft pick.

Speaking to Channel 7 after the game, Bulldogs skipper Marcus Bontempelli lauded his unsung teammate.

“These games, if you’re going to win them, you’ve got to make those contests, make those moments,” he said.
